Amigurumi Narwha

Materials:

Yarn: scraps of worsted weight (you may want to use thinner yarn for the cheeks & horn)

Hook: 4.25mm / G / 6 & 3.75mm / F / 5

Scissors, Yarn Needle, Two black beads for eyes, Stitch Marker (if required)

Stitch Legend;

r – row

st(s) – stitch(es)

ch(s) – chain(s)

sl st – slip stitch

sc – single crochet

sc2tog – single crochet 2 stitches together

dc – double crochet

Pattern;

R1: make a cinch circle, 6 sc into circle, cinch shut, do not join (6). Place a stitch marker 

on the first or last stitch of Row 1 and leave it there for reference.

R2: 2 sc into each stitch around (12)

R3: 2 sc into next stitch, sc into next stitch* repeat around (18)

R4 - R7: sc around (18). Even up Row 7 to be in line with the stitch marker.

R8: sc2tog, sc* repeat around (12)

R9: sc2tog 3x, sc into each of next 6 (9)

R10 - R12: sc in each stitch around (9). Even up Row 12 to be in line with the stitch 

marker. 

Stuff firmly.

R13: Ch 3, pinch opening together, 6 dc through corner stitches, sc across next 6, 6 dc 

into last corner stitches (or last place you put a sc) ch 3, slip stitch to close. Fasten off, 

weave in ends.

Horn – Use smaller hook;

R1: make a cinch circle, 3 sc into circle, cinch shut (3)

R2: sc in each st around (3)

R3: 2 sc into each st around (6)

R3: sc in each st around (6). Sl st to close row. Fasten off and leave enough tail to sew 

Horn to forehead. For a longer Horn, simply add a few more rows of straight single

crochet.

Cheeks - Make 2 use smaller hook;

R1: With cheek coloured yarn, make a cinch circle, sc 4 into circle, cinch shut, slip stitch, 

fasten off and leave enough tail for sewing Cheek to face.

Sew Horn to forehead. Add beads for eyes. Sew on Cheeks. Embroider mouth between 

Cheeks. If desired, tack mouth at bottom middle by bringing yarn (or thread) up through 

stitch at bottom middle, over mouth and back down through same stitch. Knot ends and
