How to crochet Gardenia flower

An ornamental plant that makes us think of the subtle charm of the East from which it comes. Simple and elegant at the same time, gardenia is prized for its fragrant white flowers, but also for its beautiful evergreen foliage.
To crochet gardenia, prepare 5 sections of different sized petals, small leaves that replace the calyx, bud, and leaves.
Required: cotton number 20 and number 10 - crochet 1.0 mm - scissors - needle - galvanized iron wire 0.45 mm - plasticized iron wire - pliers.

For the glass and leaves I used cotton number 10, for the rest it is always number 20.
Explanation of the first section of petals.
Start 4 small chains and in the first make 7 double crochets (a total of 8). Convert work.

1 round: 2 treble crochets, one double treble crochet, 3 double treble crochets in one stitch for 2 times, one double treble crochet, 2 treble crochets. Go down with slip stitches to the first chain of the initial 4 and make another equal petal.

Explanation of the second section of petals.

Start 5 small chains and close them in a circle.

1 revolution: 9 single crochets.

2 rounds: 4 treble crochets in one stitch twice. Convert work.

3 rounds: 2 half double crochet, 1 double crochet, 3 double crochet in one stitch for times, 1 double crochet, 2 double crochet. Convert work.

4 rounds: 2 double crochet, 3 double crochet, 3 double crochet in one stitch for 2 times, 3 double crochet, 2 double crochet. Lower with slip stitches until the single stitches turn. A slip stitch and repeat the same for a total of 3 petals.

Explanation of the third section of petals.

Start 6 small chains and close them in a circle.

1 revolution: 12 single crochets.

2 rounds: 4 treble crochets in one stitch twice. Convert work.

3 rounds: 2 treble crochets, one double treble crochet, 3 double treble crochets in one stitch for 2 times, one double treble crochet, 2 treble crochets Convert work.

4 rounds: 2 treble crochets, 3 double treble crochets, 3 double treble crochet 2 times, 3 double treble crochet, 2 treble crochet. Lower with slip stitches until the single stitches turn. A slip stitch and repeat the same for a total of 4 petals.

Explanation of the fourth section of petals.

Start 6 small chains and close them in a circle.

1 revolution: 15 single crochets.

2 rounds: 4 treble crochets in one stitch twice. Convert work.

3 rounds: 2 double crochet, 1 double crochet, 3 double crochet in a stitch for 2 times, 1 double crochet, 2 double crochet. Convert work.

5 rounds: 2 double crochet, 5 double crochet, 3 double crochet in one stitch for 2 times, 5 double crochet, 2 double crochet. Convert work.

6 rounds: 2 double crochet, 7 double crochet, 3 double crochet in one stitch for 2 times, 7 double crochet, 2 double crochet. Lower with slip stitches until the single stitches turn. A slip stitch and repeat for a total of 5 petals.

Explanation of section 5 of petals.
Start 7 little chains and close them in a circle.

1 revolution: 18 single crochets.

2 rounds: 4 treble crochets in one stitch twice. Convert work.

3 rounds: 2 treble crochets, one double treble crochet, 3 double treble crochets in one stitch for 2 times, one double treble crochet, 2 treble crochets Convert work.

6 rounds: 2 treble crochets, 7 double treble crochets, 3 double treble crochets in a stitch 2 times, 7 double treble crochets, 2 treble crochets. Lower with slip stitches until the single stitches turn. A slip stitch and repeat the same for a total of 6 petals.

Cut a piece of plasticized iron wire to the appropriate length and thickness for the stem of the gardenia. Wrap it several times on a light yellow cotton ball to form a small ball. Curve the tip of the stem (help yourself with tweezers) to block the ball and create the small pistil that will act as a pivot to support the various sections of petals and create the flower.

Explanation of the yolk
Start 4 small chains and in the first make 11 double crochets (total 12).

1 and 2 rounds: 24 treble crochets.

Rows 3 and 4: 2 treble crochets closed together throughout the round. Before closing the fourth round insert the stem (the same procedure of the flower stem without the yellow cotton) and fill with cotton or cotton. Close the fourth round.

5 rounds: 2 double crochets closed together throughout the round.

6 rounds: 2-3 slip stitches and close the work.

Explanation of the small sheet.
Start 12 little chains.

1 round: 2 single crochet, 2 double crochet, 1 double crochet, 2 double crochet in one stitch, 1 double crochet, 2 double crochet, 2 double crochet. Repeat the same on the other side of the chains. Without cutting the cotton, make another identical leaf by working an additional chain (it will be the central one where the stem will be inserted).

To assemble the flower insert on the stem in order from the first to the fifth section of petals and then the pair of leaflets that replace the glass. Insert the pair of small leaves also on the stem of the bud.

Explanation of the sheet.
The sheets are attached to 2 by the galvanized wire.

Start 25 little chains.

1 round: 3 single crochets, 3 medium double crochet, 3 double crochet, 6 double crochet, 3 double crochet, 3 medium double crochet, 3 single crochet. Repeat the same on the other side of the chains.

2 rounds: 3 single crochet, 3 double crochet, 3 double crochet, 9 double crochet (3 increases), 3 double crochet, 3 double crochet, 3 single crochet. Repeat the same on the other side. Cut a piece of galvanized iron wire that goes around the full circle of 2 sheets plus 2 cm on each side and insert it into the sheet, working around a circle of single crochets. Squeeze the blade tight and twist the cable 2-3 times to stop the job. Without cutting the cotton, make another identical sheet. To get to the cable to work, the low points are lowered with slip stitches. Squeeze the blade well, shape it with your hands and close the work.

Make all the leaves you need for both the flowers and the buds and tie them to the stem. This will be covered with cotton working around the chains.

Place all the stems inside a vase, alternating flowers and buds to create your gardenia seed.

As always, I hope I have explained everything to the fullest and wish everyone a good creation. Hello next time.
